IC
Name: Finn Farraday
Nicknames: It doesn't get much shorter than Fin.
Position: Stargate Psychic
Age: 36
Birthday: December 29
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 150
Hair Colour: Brown
Eye Colour: Green
Marks: A large tattoo on his back of The Lion Vs. The Unicorn

Appearance: Finn is a solidly built man in good shape thanks to his occupation as an agressive Stargate operative. The majority of his strength resides in his upper body with his broad shoulders and strong arms he has the physique of someone often relied on for hard labor. He has the thick fingered, rough hands that are probably his least favorite feature. He has a classically handsome face with short brown hair, green eyes and a square jaw. Finn takes great personal pride in his appearance and almost always seems perfectly put together when in public almost as if he fancies himself a celebrity with his perfect white teeth, stellar grooming habits, and fashionable style of dress. He always wears a gold wedding band.

Psychic Ability: Eidetic Memory
Expanded Abilities: Like all psyhcics with an eidetic memory, Finn is able to remember anything he has ever seen, heard, or learned about and recall it whenever the need should arise. His brain is like a massive computer database that can store unthinkable amounts of information with just the briefst of interactions with it. It absorbs everything it comes in contact with.
Limitations: Because of the sheer volume of information jam packed into Finn's head the information he processes can sometimes become muddled and information mixed up. He must work very hard constantly to keep everything in order and usually achieves this by creating images in his mind to organize all of his thoughts, often making strange connections between bits and pieces of data in order to keep it all straight. It is very difficult for Finn to turn his mind off at night and often suffers from boughts of insomnia he needs to take pills to combat.

Personality: More than anything, it is important to Finn to put on a good face in public. When around other psychics he is very social, especially with his fellow Stargate operatives although he isn't usually as playfully and easy going as some of his younger co-workers given he's older than most of them. Still, he remains good natured and can take a joke well. When he is alone, however, he can be moody and morose, easily getting wrapped up in bad memories that turn even his best moods into melancholy. At times like these he retreats from all contact with most everyone until his fit is over. When Finn's locked himself in his room most people know to leave him alone.

Finn has a fierce hatred for non-psychic people (norms). He feels that those with extra sensory abilities are just better than those who aren't gifted or even don't believe things like that exist. To him, normal people are little more than cattle, hardly something he categorizes as human beings and he loathes having to associate with them for any amount of time.

Strengths: Finn has a great deal of experience working for Stargate as it's something he's been doing for a number of years. Before Stargate he was a police sargeant and growing up in a family who liked hunting, he's pretty much been around guns his whole life. He took boxing in college and did fairly well for the school. While Finn's mind insures he remembers everything he ever experiences, he favors forensics and is extremely adept at cleaning up crime scenes and disposing of bodies.
Weaknesses: Finn's extreme hatred for normal people has the poetential to get him into a lot of trouble as he often can't control himself around them. He is also very unforgiving. Once someone upsets or insults him, he often holds onto the grudge a lot longer than he should. It's pretty difficult to get off his bad list once you're on it.
Likes: M.C. Escher, Board Games and Puzzles, Collecting Butterflies, Cufflinks, Steak, Fruit Pies, Police Dramas, Books/Movies/TV Programs about Organized Crime, Cats (he lives with his wife's, a fluffy white one with blue eyes named Puss).
Dislikes: Non-Psychic people, January 19th, Valentine's Day, Drunks, Working With Others.

History: Finn's ability presented itself at a very young age. Because of his steel trap mind, he had a difficult time staying focused in school because everything seemed to be so much easier for him than it was for other students. Being bored lead to bad behavior which lead to his parents taking him to therapy where his psychologist decided Finn had a photographic memory and needed to be enrolled in a special school. While that institution wasn't one for psychics, it was a highly privatized system that dealt with unusual cases from genius students to mentally challenged ones. He hated it there, being forced to ride the short bus to his school every day. Most of the children on his street assumed there was something wrong with him and he didn't have too many neighborhood friends. It was different in school, though. He made connections with a few bright children who, while they were often much smarter than Finn, were impressed by his ability to recall information. They would often play a game with him where they would take one of their class books, turn to a random page and ask him to recite it to them without looking. He could do it every time.

His special school took him through grades 3-12 and upon graduation he joined the National Guard ( he never saw action). After that, the Police Academy. When he was 22 he met Eden Catalina of the New York Catalinas, a young debutante from a wealthy family who came from old, old money. Although he was on a much lower wrung on the social latter than Eden, he managed to sweep her off her feet and they were married on February 14th when Finn was twenty five and Eden twenty. Of course, it wasn't just love that brought them together (although there certainly was a healthy amount of that). Eden, as it turned out, was also a psychic, a very talented Dreamwalker.

Since her ability was obviously something extra sensory as opposed to Finn's Eidetic Memory, she realized far sooner than Finn did that she was special and spent vast amounts of time learning about psychics and those with special abilties. It was Eden who helped Finn realize the true extent of his power, that it extended further beyond a simple photographic memory. She kept a catalogue of all the psychics she meant while Dreamwalking and knew a great many 'gifted' people.

It was Eden who brought Finn to Project Stargate. She and Finn worked together as a team and partnered on nearly all of their missions together which revolved mostly around information gathering as opposed to the more agressive orders some of their peers received. Despite the fact that the Farraday's often spied on some very dangerous people, it was a far less nefarious fate that tore the couple apart. On January 19th 2000, on their way back to Stargate from a date in town, their vehicle was hit by a drunk driver. Their car rolled three times before coming to rest on its roof. Both suffered from very serious injuries although Eden's were far more serious and she died en route to the hospital. She was twenty-three.

Finn descended into a deep depression from which bloomed an intense hatred for the man who had killed his wife. She had been such a wonderful woman and a gifted psychic he just couldn't come to terms with how she had died in such a completely unrelated way. He found his wife's killer and returned the favor but it didn't do much to ease his troubled mind and since his fury hadn't been sated by the murder he did commit, it bled out to cover all normal, non psychic people.

From that point on he demanded that Mr. Smith assign him to more agressive missions in order to give him the opportunity to kill as many non psychics and sympathizers that he could get his hands on. As well as these sorts of missions, Finn also acts as a Cleaner. He's good at getting rid of corpses and cleaning up crime scenes of their forensic evidence and along the same vein, setting them up with the same to lead authorities to desired targets.
