Locked to Project Stargate

Sleeping isn't going so well for me lately, it's been a rough couple of months and a lot has happened. It makes me wonder how long I'd have to sit and talk to Doc Oz before he'd hook me up with the really good sleeping pills. I want the stuff Juliet took.

I went out yesterday night at about this time for a few drinks and ran into a weird group of late night speed daters. Speed dating is easily one of the most amusing...I don't know what else to call it other than a debacle...that I've ever seen. All the women sit there, dressed up and smiling to your face but downright predatory when you turn your back.

While I wasn't even there to participate in that train wreck, some woman still thought it was appropriate to stick her phone number written on a kissed napkin down the front of my pants. I remember a time when women used to be classy.

Locked to Project Stargate

I don't exactly have any plans for this Saturday but I'd like some, the type passed down from Mr. Smith that usually involve firearms. Or maybe someone can let Killian out again and this time I can get to the mess soon enough afterwords to do something about it. I imagine I'll just go into town, find a bar whose windows aren't plastered with cardboard hearts and knock a few back. Although maybe it would be better to do that sort of thing on base, at least then I wouldn't have to run the risk of getting hit on. Ana may want a good brushing though.

Locked to Project Stargate

I found my missing cat. Thank you, Nando, and everyone else who helped keep an eye out for me. I underestimated how large the building is, at least to a cat. I guess I thought the amount of places she could hide in would be limited given the amount of fur she has but eventually, after much arduous searching, I found her on top of the cupboards in the kitchen. I don't even know how I happened to look up there and notice her but I must have walked by her hiding spot half a dozen times in my quest. I suppose it makes sense since the kitchen is where all the food is.

I also had the pleasure of breaking up a fight in the same location this past week. I'm not sure if any of you noticed the blood smeared on the outside of the window before O cleaned it up or the pile of dead crows in the back but I can assure you they're all connected. They looked kind of sad against the snow too but they didn't die in vain. At least one of them. I tore off a wing and gave it to Ana. She seems to really enjoy it...or enjoys burying it under the covers of my bed so when I stick my feet in the blankets I get toes full of bird feathers instead.

Locked to Project Stargate

It's been a rough week. I am glad it's over and that the calendar on my next week is gratefully blank. No missions, no anniversaries, no birthdays, just a little old Lunar New Year side note. I don't even know what that means, a Lunar New Year. Assuming nothing should happen to tear me away from the fact that I have absolutely nothing to occupy my time with I believe I'll spend the weekend on the sofa with Vic Mackey and the Strike Team.

If anyone sees my cat around base, please don't maim or kill her, just tell me where she is or, if you wouldn't mind, bring her back to my room. I'm not even entirely sure she's out but I haven't seen her in my room the past few days. We had a fight and I sprayed her with the water bottle and she retaliated by peeing on my bed and running away. Without her, my feet are very cold at night. If you haven't seen my cat before, she looks like this. She is very big, very white, and very ugly. Not easy to miss.

I had a good time watching the mission on the television. I believe that's the first time since I was a teenager that I'd had that much fun waiting for the New Year. I only wish I could have been there myself. My only critique would be that maybe the crowd wasn't stirred up enough. With all the norms there only one was trampled by the crowd? That's not very good for a riot.`

Nando, I've finished the puzzle if you'd like to see it before I take it apart.

Locked to Project Stargate

I bought myself The World's Largest Jigsaw Puzzle for Christmas. Apparently once its put together it's roughly 14 x 5 feet which should take up a sizable portion of my living room floor. There will be some delicate foot steps taken in my room over the next few weeks. Once Christmas is over I should be able to devote my full attention to it as I haven't received any mission orders in quite some time.

For Christmas I'll be away visiting family. It seems a lot of people here don't have family either by their own choice or through loss. I can think of few things more sad than that, especially during this time of year.

Keegan, Mateo, how are you settling in? Have you made any friends?

Locked to Project Stargate

It seems our population is slowly growing here lately and I'm not just talking about the six adolescents in the basement. People are either returning from missions or joining up. It's a good thing, a better use of our special talents then say, joining the military. They're always recruiting also.

I was going to mention our two new recruits but O beat me to it. That's alright. I'm going be driving to the airport to pick the two of them up. This means 50 miles to Portland. I'm willing to take a passenger or two. I don't like driving alone, especially this time of year when every idiot and their mother are on the roads. I get too emotional. They're teenagers, the pair of them, so maybe someone who shares their interests more than I do would be appropriate.
